The Digital Railway strategy sets out a blueprint for modernisation in the next 15 years.

The strategy explains why modern forms of signalling and train control are required urgently to improve the passenger experience and bring down the operating costs of the network. It provides the detail of how this will be achieved in the next 15 years during which time more than half of all existing traditional signalling systems will become obsolete.
