Here are a few recent highlights.
Best Employers for Race
Business in the Community has named us one of the UK’s best employers for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people. There are 66 public and private sector organisations named in the first ever Best Employers for Race list, collated as a direct call to action made in the 2017 McGregor-Smith Review of race in the workplace to showcase best practice on race equality in UK workplaces. The list is unranked with organisations in alphabetical order.
Signalling teams within Network Rail's Infrastructure Projects (IP) division have won Gold for Conservation & Wildlife in the Green Apple Environment Awards 2017, for the Building and Construction category.
The teams involved were presented with the award in November 2017 at the Houses of Parliament.
The award was for their work with the National Trust at Whitburn Point Local Nature Reserve to create a new home for sand martins. The colony will be complete in time for the 2018 nesting season.
The Wessex Capacity Alliance, an integrated team from Network Rail, Skanska, Colas and Mott MacDonald working on the Wessex Capacity Improvement Programme, received the Chairman’s Special Recognition Award at the Collaborative Awards 2017. The awards ceremony, hosted by the Institute of Collaborative Working (ICW), was held at the House of Lords in December.
The London Bridge station redevelopment was one of the 12 projects that the public nominated as their favourite civil engineering project for the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) People’s Choice Award.
