As part of the Great North Rail Project, we’re upgrading the railway between Manchester Victoria to Leeds and Selby / York.
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) aims to deliver faster, longer, more frequent and more reliable services across the north of England, from Newcastle, Hull and York towards Manchester and Liverpool via Leeds. Network Rail has worked on the development of potential infrastructure options for the Transpennine Route Upgrade and has now submitted these options to the Department for Transport (DfT) for consideration.
For any comments or questions regarding the Transpennine Route Upgrade or any associated schemes, please contact our 24-hr Network Rail national helpline on 03457 11 41 41 or visit our contact us page.
