How we work collectively to prevent suicide on the railway

Every suicide affects family and friends, as well as our employees, commuters and the wider community.

Along with Britain’s train operating companies and British Transport Police, we’ve been working with Samaritans to raise awareness of its services since 2010.

Central to our suicide prevention programme is the belief that suicide is not inevitable and we can work collectively to reduce the traumatic loss of life and devastation it causes.

Find out about our role supporting a wider community-based approach, and read about some of the heartfelt experiences of Network Rail workers who’ve intervened to save lives on the railway.
