London. Limited opportunities are also available in Swindon, Birmingham/York and Glasgow.

What you’ll be doing

During your placement with the freight and national passenger operation route, you will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of working with our key customers and understanding their business. You’ll get to understand the commercial and contractual relationship we have with our customers as well as gaining a good operational understanding of how we deliver safe train service performance, through hands-on experience including site visits to ports and terminals.

You’ll contribute to developing performance improvement plans that allow us to continue to deliver a timely service to our customers and will get involved in progressing some of our business development opportunities that support sector growth.

Working in partnership with our key stakeholders, you’ll help us to move more freight away from Britain’s roads, reduce carbon emissions and improve quality of life.
