This measure comprises the number of higher risk (hazard index of 50 or above) infrastructure failures.
The table below shows the number of infrastructure high hazard incidents for 2015/16 compared to previous years.
These incidents are reviewed within the business and information for action shared across the routes including lessons learnt and how we can improve infrastructure reliability and safety of the assets.
Infrastructure incidents with a hazard score of 50 or more.

The number of annual hazard incidents with a hazard score of 50 or more remains around 100. Track and electrical power failures accounted for the greatest number with 29 failures each (compared with 27 track failures and 20 electrical power failures in the previous year). For structure assets there were 16 failures (17 in the previous year), signalling had 15 failures (compared with 25 in the previous year) and buildings with 11 failures (compared with 5 in the previous year).
