The number of annual hazard incidents with a hazard score of 50 or more is averaging around 160 for the past four years. Signalling failures accounted for the greatest number with 76 failures. For structure assets there were 14 failures (19 in the previous year), track had 22 failures (compared with 26 in the previous year), electrical power had 42 failures (41 in the previous year) and buildings with 10 failures (compared with 5 in the previous year).
