During May 2019, we started work on site at Cadoxton station in the Vale of Glamorgan, to improve access, as part of the Department for Transport and Welsh Government funded Access for All scheme
This £3m investment will include the installation of a new stepped-footbridge with two lifts, which will provide a fully accessible route from the station entrance to platform two (for Barry-bound trains) for the first time, allowing all users to make full use of the station. Step-free access not only benefits those with reduced mobility, but also people with children, heavy luggage or shopping.
When will the work take place?
We have set up our site compound in the area north-west to the station and have fenced off an area of the car park to store materials and machinery. We will be working on the site for the rest of 2019 and hope to complete the project by the end of 2019/ early 2020. The station will remain open to passengers during construction.
