During May 2019, we started work on site at Cadoxton station in the Vale of Glamorgan, to improve access, as part of the Department for Transport and Welsh Government funded Access for All scheme.
This £3m investment will include the installation of a new stepped-footbridge with two lifts, which will provide a fully accessible route from the station entrance to platform two (for Barry-bound trains) for the first time, allowing all users to make full use of the station. Step-free access not only benefits those with reduced mobility, but also people with children, heavy luggage or shopping.
Work is progressing well and we are nearly ready to open the new footbridge and lifts to the public. Thank you to passengers and the local community for your patience throughout our work.
