We are pleased to announce that the road was fully opened on Wednesday 12th June.
We realise that this was later than we had planned.
It was important to ensure that before the bridge was opened it was safe, and that it was approved to ensure it remained DDA – Disability Discrimination Act – compliant in terms of the pavement and road.
Design engineers also had to check to ensure that the parapets and kerbing would protect the railway from any incursion. This meant that some additional works were required.
We sincerely apologise for these delays and thank you for your patience while these essential works were carried out.
The improvement programme at Market Harborough station is due for completion in December 2019. Further work is required to complete the south platform, creation of the additional car park spaces, some drainage and telecom work.
We will continue to keep our lineside neighbours informed throughout and would like to thank all of our neighbours and passengers for their patience and support throughout.
