There are engineering works planned from Saturday 29 to Monday 31 August to maintain and upgrade the railway to improve passengers’ journeys.

While the majority of the network will be open for business as usual, those planning to travel are advised to check in advance if their route will be affected by the improvement works taking place.

Wear a face covering

Please wear a face covering while in stations and travelling on public transport.

And remember some passengers have invisible disabilities or health conditions which means they are unable to wear one.

You can find out about the latest information on face coverings and face covering exemptions from the National Rail Enquiries' website.

The wide-ranging projects include track renewals, improvements to signalling and bridge replacement works.

For the latest, most up-to-date travel advice passengers who have to travel should check National Rail Enquiries.
