Disruption to services between Chichester and Barnham will continue into Tuesday as Network Rail engineers work to fix a signalling fault on the line.
Engineers have been working around-the-clock to complete repairs since the disruption first occurred on Monday morning.
Unfortunately, due to the complex nature of the fault and the need to replace equipment out on the track, the railway remains closed this morning between Barnham and Chichester.
A replacement bus service will continue to operate every 15 minutes between Barnham and Chichester. Replacement buses between Chichester and Havant will also continue to run.
Tickets will remain valid at no additional cost with South Western between London Waterloo and Havant, and with London Underground between London Bridge/Victoria and London Waterloo.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: “We understand the inconvenience this disruption is causing our customers and we are working hard to restore services as quickly as we can for passengers.”
