Network Rail is inviting residents in Cleethorpes to find out more about the closure of Suggitt’s Lane level crossing in the town.
The crossing connects Suggitt’s Lane to Cleethorpes promenade and sees over 50 passenger and freight trains travel over the crossing daily.
Network Rail will close the crossing later this month to improve safety as there have been many instances of both intentional and non-intentional misuse at the level crossing. This includes people walking up the tracks, using motorcycles on the crossing and young children crossing unaccompanied.
Network Rail is holding a public information event for those wishing to find out more about the closure. This will take place at Saint Peter’s Church Hall in Cleethorpes on Thursday, 21 March between 15:00 and 19:00. Representatives from Network Rail will be on hand to answer any questions which residents may have.
Anyone who cannot make the event, but wishes to find out more can call the Network Rail National Helpline on 03457 11 41 41.
