Viewers tuning in to tonight’s BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing saw that stars from the show mingled with surprised passengers at London Waterloo earlier this week to film a sequence for the show to support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The stars and professional dancers entertained passengers and visitors to the station with an impromptu waltz sequence and patrolled the concourse with collecting buckets and trays of poppies to fundraise for the charity.

Mike Bushell, sports presenter and contestant on the show, said it was “a real privilege” to be at the station to raise money for the Poppy Appeal.

Cem Davis, Waterloo Station Manager said: “It’s a pleasure to host events which surprise and delight, particularly those which help raise money for a good cause.

“People loved having the opportunity to meet the stars and pose for selfies.”
