Celebrities make special announcements at Network Rail stations this week to surprise critical worker passengers.

Famous names including; Gary Lineker, Claudia Winkleman, Beverley Knight, Lord Sugar, and President Trump (impersonated by Rory Bremner) have recorded special messages to show support for the nation’s critical workers.

Network Rail’s #MakeItBlue campaign, salutes the efforts of hard-working NHS staff and essential workers across the country. A collection of celebrities have provided recordings for tannoy announcements to show their support.

The recordings, which were donated free of charge, include personal messages of thanks from Chris Moyles, Alan Carr, Arlene Phillips, Edith Bowman and Rick Edwards.

The messages will be played in Network Rail’s Southern region stations; Victoria, London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Guildford, Clapham Junction and Waterloo before they go live nationwide, allowing critical workers across the country to listen.

For those not travelling at the moment (only using public transport if absolutely necessary), Network Rail will be sharing the announcements on Twitter @NetworkRailSE.

John Halsall, managing director for Network Rail Southern region, said:

“The NHS, frontline workers and station staff, are making the nation proud every day; I hope these messages of thanks go some way to showing just how much we appreciate their efforts during this difficult time.”
