A change to planned Network Rail engineering work means England and Croatia fans will be able to travel by Chiltern Railways on the line between Gerrards Cross and West Ruislip on Sunday 18 November.

Infrastructure work at West Ruislip planned for Sunday 18 November has now been rescheduled and will take place in early 2019.

This means customers can now use Chiltern Railways’ services between London and Wembley Stadium.

Customers are being advised to check before they travel at www.nationalrail.co.uk or www.chilternrailways.co.uk for the very latest train service information. Allowing extra time for their journey is still advised as services may be busier on Sunday 18 November due to the Wembley event.

James Dean, chief operating officer for Network Rail’s London North Western route, said: “The next phase of work on the line through West Ruislip to prepare for the high speed railway will take place from early 2019.

“We are sorry for any confusion caused by this change. As ever, along with our partners Chiltern Railways, we are trying to give train customers the best possible service in every set of circumstances.”

Eleni Jordan, Chiltern Railways’ commercial director, said: “Our focus is providing the best possible service for our customers now that the route will be fully open.

“We will continue to work with partners to ensure we minimise disruption for our customers during future infrastructure engineering works.”
