Eye in the sky – drones that inspect the railway

Our engineers use drones to quickly, cheaply and safely inspect the railway ahead of repairs.

Carrying out inspections remotely by air means the railway can stay open and trains can keep running. And we can keep our people safe.

Our high-tech drones carry the latest equipment and have a number of built-in safety features like ‘return to home’ protocols, evasive maneuvers and obstacle detection.

It is illegal to fly a drone within 50 metres of the railway. Only our specially trained expert pilots are allowed.
