What friends and adopters do and who to contact

What is a station friends group?

These are local groups formed to support their station. They tend to work mainly with the train operating company (TOC) that manages the station, and their activities could include:

  • reporting problems and maintenance issues
  • developing station gardens
  • promotional activities such as station galas.

They also actively promote station adoption.

If a friends group identifies an issue requiring our rapid attention, they should contact us.

For non-urgent issues, please contact the TOC first and they will advise you on the best course of action.

How do we work with station friends groups?

For station friends and station adopters, contact is usually managed by the train operating company (TOC), which has day-to-day responsibility for the management and safety of the station.

Any issues that cannot be resolved by the TOC would normally be referred to us.
