You are flexible and don’t mind traveling across the country to seek out training and development opportunities.

By exploring renewable energy technologies and smart substation solutions, you’ll help us to make our electricity supplies greener and more resilient. You’ll work with cutting-edge technology and industry experts to develop your knowledge of electrification, signalling and telecommunications. You’ll help us to improve safety and reduce journey times by coming up with innovative solutions to industry issues.

Why you should choose this placement?

A short-term placement offers a unique opportunity to experience many parts of the business, and make a contribution from day one. The scheme is run by former graduates who act as coaches and mentors to our new recruits. There are only a small number of summer placements available which means, if you’re successful, you’ll be highly visible across the function. Many students go on to make successful applications to the graduate scheme and now hold senior positions.

Entry requirements:

You must be in your penultimate year and on course to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 in an Institution of Engineering Technology (IET) accredited degree.
