  • Station accessibility

    There is step-free access from the airport terminal to all platforms via escalators and lifts - these are signposted from the station entrance.

    The information desk and has a low level accessible counter and an information monitor but no induction loop. The travel centre and ticket office both have induction loops.

    We have no mobility assistance vehicles available at the station but transfers can be arranged from the airport if you are a taking a flight. Assistance is provided by G4 on the station concourse to the airport terminals.

    There are no tactile warning strips along the platform edge.

    Requesting assistance

    Assistance from your flight to the station and back should be arranged through your airline. This service is provided by G4. For further information call BAA on 0870 000 2468.

    From the station we will help you onto the train and arrange any further assistance you might need on your train journey.

    If you need mobility assistance or help getting luggage onto any train service from Gatwick Airport station, our station staff will be pleased to help - just go to the information desk on the station concourse or speak to any member of our staff.

    The information desk is open from 07:00 to 19:00 every day. At any other time please ask at the ticket office, which is open 24 hours.

    Access to trains

    Please contact the train operator 48 hours in advance if possible.

    Assistance can also be arranged on the day of travel from your departing station.

  • Toilets
    There is an accessible toilet on platform 1 which is available on request. There is a slight slope to the entrance. There are also toilets close by in the airport's south terminal.
    Trolleys
    Coin operated trolleys are available from the footbridge leading to the airport and on the station concourse. They can't be taken onto the platforms for safety reasons.
    Textphone
    A public text phone is available on the main concourse by the ticket office and travel centre.
    Wheelchairs
    If you need to borrow a wheelchair for use around the station, please speak to one of our station staff at the information desk on the main concourse (open 07:00 to 19:00 every day) or at the ticket office on the main concourse (open 24 hours). If you are on the platform and require wheelchair assistance from there, please speak to a member of staff.
    Getting to and from the station

    Car
    Gatwick Airport station is at the airport's South Terminal. Private cars can pick up and set down in the drop-off zone: follow the signs for drop-off as you enter the South Terminal. There are no Blue Badge bays as waiting time is restricted.

    There is no car park at Gatwick Airport train station. The airport short stay car parks have parking spaces reserved for Blue Badge holders. Accessible routes to the terminals are clearly signposted and there are help points near the parking spaces. Help is free for disabled people.     If you require help getting from the car park to the airport, call BAA on 0844 335 1000.

    For security reasons please do not leave you car unattended at any time. If you need to leave your car unattended, you must use the airport's short stay car park.

    Buses
    Most long distance services operate from the lower South Terminal forecourt. Some also call at North Terminal (on the lower level outside international arrivals). Access is via a travelator, ramps and lifts to the terminal where there is level access to the station.

    Assistance is provided by G4 to and from sign posted help points in Gatwick Airport to your flight and other connections within the Airport complex.

    Local buses to Crawley, Horley, Horsham and Redhill are also available. For further information on destinations and time tables go to Gatwick Airport website. 

    Taxi
    The airport taxi rank is on the same level as the station concourse and is about 500 metres from the station. Accessible taxis should be booked in advance - call Checker Cars on 0800 747 737 (free phone in UK).
