  • Station accessibility

    Only the Waverley Bridge North and South entrances are step-free, however they do have steep ramps. There is a lift from the footbridge to the main concourse and platforms 1, 8, 9, 10 and 20.

    There are tactile warning strips along the platform edges with the exception of platforms 4, 7, 8 and 9.

    The ticket offices have induction loops.

    Requesting assistance

    If you need mobility assistance or help with luggage please either speak to a member of staff on the concourse or go to East Coast reception next to the taxi drop off area.

    Reception opening hours:

    • Monday to Saturday 06:30 - 21:00
    • Sunday 08:30 - 21:00

  • Accessible toilets

    In the entrance to the toilet block, off the main concourse.

    Wheelchairs and mobility vehicles

    If you want to borrow a wheelchair or need help with mobility, please speak to any member of staff on the concourse or go to East Coast reception by the taxi drop-off (see opening hours above).

    There are no mobility assistance vehicles.

    Textphone
    There is a BT public textphone on the main concourse opposite the post box.
    Lifts
    There is a lift from the footbridge to the main concourse and platforms 1, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 20.
    Getting to and from the station

    Car
    Cars can pick up and drop off in the station on the south side roadway adjacent to Platform 11. There is level access to the station.

    The long stay car park off New Street has 22 Blue Badge spaces. Station access is via two flights of stairs - the lift is out of service due to improvement works, porters in the car park and on the link-bridge will help where required.

    Bus
    Buses stop in Princes Street, which is accessed by the Waverley Bridge exit. Step-free access is available via a steep ramp.

    Taxi
    Taxi pick-up is on the roadway adjacent to platforms 7-11. The taxi drop-off is directly opposite. Station access is step-free.
