  • Station accessibility

    All station entrances are step-free and with the exception of the Lime Street entrance where a lift is available from street level to the station concourse. There is a lift from the long stay car park to the station concourse.

    The booking office and ticket office are both accessible and have induction loops. There are also two low ticket machines next to Café Nero and the booking office.

    There are no tactile warning strips on the platforms.

    Requesting assistance

    If you need help with mobility or with luggage our staff will be pleased to help. Go to one of the customer information points or the station reception on platform 1 (Monday to Saturday 07:00 - 22:00, Sunday 08:00 - 20:00.

    Alternatively contact your train operator, ideally 48 hours in advance:

    Lime Street station has a mobility assistance vehicle, booking is recommend.

    Near to the Lord Nelson Street entrance:

    • Monday to Sunday 06:00 - 23:00

    They are free but you need a RADAR key. If you don't have one, speak to a member of station staff or go to the reception on platform 1.

    Wheelchairs

    If you need a wheelchair, ask any member of our station staff or go to the station reception on platform 1.

    You can pre-book a wheelchair with your train operator.

    Getting to and from the station

    Bus
    Most bus stops are on Lime Street.

    Buses for Liverpool John Lennon Airport stop on Skelhorne Street opposite the station entrance, all buses on this route are accessible.

    Car
    Private cars can pick and set down just inside the station entrance at Skelhorne Street.

    There are 4 Blue Badge spaces in the short stay Skelhorne Street car park and 13 in the long stay car park on Lord Nelson Street. There are lifts from the long stay car park to the concourse. The normal tariff applies, see parking at Lime Street for details.

    Taxi
    The taxi rank is at the Skelhorne Street entrance of the station. Taxis are wheelchair accessible.

    Underground
    The Merseyrail underground network is accessed from the main line station via the escalator or lift from the concourse.
