• Access for All

  • New bridge installed overnight at Hooton railway station

    On Schedule

We’re putting in new lifts, footbridges, installing handrails and tactile platform paving.

Schemes delivered nationally include Huddersfield, Exeter Central, Lewisham and Middlesborough. Further schemes are planned at Abergavenney, Bridgend, Long Eaton, Letchworth Garden City and Perth, Scotland.

Work carried out will cause no interruptions to passenger journeys.
The work is essential to provide growing transport needs now and in the future.

  • Improved accessibility

Step free access stations have lifts or ramps so that passengers don't have to use escalators or stairs.

    Easier access to key stations

Wheel chair users, people with mobility issues, parents with pushchairs, assistance dogs and passengers with heavy or awkward luggage will now find using key stations easier.

    On trains, off roads

Our work is attracting even more people onto the railway and taking them off our busy roads. We want to deliver real benefits, making journeys more comfortable and easier.

We're working to complete these improvements on schedule. View our project timeline.
