West Midlands
May Bank Holiday major engineering work
|
West Coast Main Line
The West Coast upgrade will replace old infrastructure, remove bottlenecks, enhance and modernise signalling schemes. This will allow 125 mph line speed and more trains for passengers in 2009, leading to a reduction in journey times of almost one hour from London to Glasgow. Please note that some scheduled work will continue on parts of the West Coast mainline in the week after the Bank Holiday which may affect the speed of your journey on this route.
