August Bank Holiday major engineering work

Chorley
Works will be ongoing over the August bank holiday to renew the track and drainage systems at the Chorley flying arches, until Monday 8 September. The purpose of the £5.5m investment is to restore the 75mph line-speed in order to give passengers a more reliable and efficient service.

Manchester
This weekend will see our engineers building a new platform at Manchester Airport station to meet extra capacity. This will result in a reduction in services to and from the station, but the station itself will remain operational. The work represents an investment of £15m.
