Network Rail Discretionary Fund (NRDF)

It is important that opportunities are taken to enhance the capacity and capability of the rail network where this will deliver value for money, and meet identified requirements. Network Rail has agreement from the DfT, Transport Scotland and ORR to the creation of a programme of small enhancement schemes up to a total expenditure of £200 million over the period 2005/06 to 2008/09 - the Network Rail Discretionary Fund (NRDF).
