As part of Infrastructure Projects, the team leads and manages the delivery of renewal and enhancement projects to both Operational and Commercial Assets.
Portfolio
Our key purpose is the efficient delivery of Building & Civils renewals through improved specification, better utilisation of resources and the professional control and management of projects.
Network Rail is in charge of a network that is twice the length of UK’s motorways and trunk roads combined, and is the largest single bridge owner in the country. The infrastructure we manage is extensive. We have 13,500 line side buildings and 2,500 stations, 200 miles of railway in tunnels, 150 miles of coastal railway, and around 250 miles of subterranean water courses.
We undertake works across the network in a diverse range of projects covering all disciplines of building and civil engineering with package values from £250,000 to over £100 million.
Our focus is to renew and enhance this rail infrastructure to deliver our commitments for the future, through increased efficiency and value for money.
To keep the industry appraised of our scheme of works, we meet with the
Civil Engineering Contractor’s Association (CECA)
on a quarterly basis, at both national and territory level.
