As a Network Rail employee, you'll be entitled to a large range of benefits including:
Subsidised rail travel
Interest free loans allow you to spread the cost of season tickets for rail, underground, bus and car parking connected to travel to your normal work place.
You can claim subsidies of up to 75% (maximum £2,250) on rail and Underground season tickets (excluding those who qualify for safeguarded travel or other discount).
Holiday
Our holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December. You're entitled to holiday on a pro-rata basis when joining or leaving Network Rail. Please check your contract for your holiday entitlement.
For employees who work shifts or part time, leave is calculated pro-rata and depends on the shift pattern worked.
Bonus scheme
We have two bonus schemes, the Annual Incentive Plan and the General Bonus Scheme, which are not a contractual entitlement.
Our bonus year runs from 1 April to 31 March with payouts usually made in July, but no later than December. Payments are subject to tax and national insurance and do not form part of pensionable pay.
Pension
You have a choice of three contributory pension schemes, depending on your length of service and age. All of the schemes offer you:
- A pension from your retirement date for life
- Significant contributions from Network Rail
- Other benefits such as life assurance

Charitable Giving scheme
The Charitable Giving scheme exists to support employees' efforts in giving back to the community. It has three elements:
Company Giving
We'll match the funds an employee raises up to a limit of £1,200 per year. The money is put into the central charity fund and given to one of our chosen charities.
Give as you earn
This Government-backed scheme enables you to donate to charities tax-free through the payroll.
Volunteer leave
Up to five days paid leave per year may be given to employees working with one of our supported charities.
Employee assistance programme
This is a free confidential service offering information, advice and counselling 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
Save on brand names

Childcare vouchers
