As part of our application to the Infrastructure Planning Commission, we are in the process of carrying out a full consultation with the local community, landowners and other statutory consultees that might be impacted by the scheme.
Phase 1
In October 2010 we carried out a series of events asking for feedback from the public, technical and environmental bodies and our partners in the rail industry on 3 options to improve the railway around Stafford/Norton Bridge.
After extensive analysis of the benefits and impacts of each option a preferred alignment was selected for further development.

Phase 2
In October and November 2011 we carried out a second round of public consultation giving details of the preffered option. We are currently looking at all comments and suggestions and are working up our proposal to a greater level of detail ahead of a further round of consultation in late Spring 2012.
Phase 2 consultation documents
Ahead of the public consultation, we talked to Staffordshire County Council and Staffordshire Borough Council l who helped us draw up a plan for how we should consult the community. This document is called the Statement of Community Consultation and is available to download.
