We committed to keeping communities informed and providing ways for people to share their views throughout the Community Consultation phase.
The communication with local communities for the Airdie-Bathgate link since 2004 included:
- Distributing 43,000 leaflets and newsletters
- Targeting 227,000 households with through the door communication
- Holding 27 public exhibitions which targeting over 20,000 people
- Organising 44 public meetings involving around 1,115 people
- Setting up a dedicated website which received in excess of 200,000 visits
- Providing an email helpline service which has received around 1,300 public enquiries
- Managing dedicated helplines which have received almost 1,400 calls
- Issuing over 70 press releases which resulted in over 200 items of press and broadcast coverage
