Our Environment Awards

We are now searching Britain to find entries for the Network Rail Environment Awards 2008

The Network Rail Environment Awards highlight the very best in environmental practice across the railway industry. Since 2000, the Awards have recognised organisations and individuals that have delivered the highest standards in reducing the impact of railway operations on the environment and improved the areas on and around the network.

Who can enter?

The Awards are open to all organisations and individuals (excluding Network Rail and its employees) that work or are involved in the railway industry on the overground network that we maintain and operate. This includes contractors, train and freight operators, suppliers, local authorities, passenger groups, community partnerships, heritage bodies, and those who work to reduce railway crime.

Over the following weeks we will be searching Britain to find the most innovative and passionate social and environmental projects so we can reward achievement and encourage others to follow the great examples that are happening across the industry.

The judging process

Entries should be submitted via email (if this is not possible, hard copies will be accepted) and will be judged through a two stage process. In the first instance, they will be short-listed by a team of specialists from Network Rail. A final judging panel, that includes Iain Coucher, Chief Executive, and other senior directors from Network Rail, will then judge the short-listed entries and choose the winners.

The awards dinner

All those short-listed will be invited to a prestigious dinner where the winners of the Network Rail Environment Awards will be announced. This will be on Thursday 3 July 2008 at the Earth Galleries, Natural History Museum, London.
