What’s involved?
It’s our HR department’s responsibility to create an environment that attracts and keeps high-performing candidates. You could be supporting any area of HR, such as maternity, retirement, resignations, new entrants, grievance and disciplinary hearings, inductions and organisational changes.
You’ll need to be trustworthy, discreet and professional in challenging environments, and be familiar with HR processes and policies. Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate in Personnel Practice and experience of using HR or payroll software. You must also display the tact and assertiveness necessary for gathering potentially sensitive data.
As you’ll be responsible for maintaining our HR databases, providing ad hoc reporting (including period statistics and absence monitoring) and assisting with grievance and disciplinary hearings, you’ll need a “right first time” approach, with good attention to detail.
By helping to ensure we get and keep great people, you’ll play an essential role in our goal of creating a world-class railway infrastructure.
