We’re renewing the waybeams on Huttons Ambo rail bridge
14 February 2012Despite the icy weather in North Yorkshire, our engineers are renewing the bridge waybeams, along with other work to the structure and track to keep rail services running safely and reliably.
Some train services have been affected to allow critical work to be completed but even with the snow and freezing temperatures this work has been finished on time.
Warrick Dent, our general manager said: “We have had scaffolding up since November 2011 as the vast majority of the works are being completed without disrupting trains.
“The complexity of the job over the past two weekends has meant that trains could not run. This disruption has been kept to an absolute minimum and we intend to complete the job with no further disruption to services. I would like to thank passengers and First TransPennine Express for their patience.”
We expect to complete the work to Huttons Ambo rail bridge by the middle of April 2012.
