• Community consultation

    We want your views
  • As part of our application to the Planning Inspectorate, we are in the process of carrying out a full consultation with the local community, landowners and other statutory consultees that might be impacted by the scheme.

In September 2011 we held a series of events introducing the scheme and asking for feedback on our proposals.

Since the events we have received about 100 comments from people interested in the scheme. Of these comments approximately 80% were supportive of our proposals, with respondents identifying improvements in the frequency of service, the improvements and Alvechurch Station and potential increases in the reliability of service as the key benefits of the scheme.

Other issues that respondents asked us to consider as we further develop our plans were car parking, ticketing and lighting at Alvechurch Station, suggested changes to the service patterns to and from Redditch, and concerns about potential noise pollution caused by the scheme. You can download fact sheets on both of these issues here:

We are now carrying out a second round of public consultation, with events held in the following places:

    • Friday 20 April, 12 noon - 5 pm - Alvechurch Library, Birmingham Road, Alvechurch
    • Monday 23 April, 4.15 pm - 8 pm - Alvechurch Baptist Church, Red Lion Street, Alvechurch

    Draft application documents

For more detailed information on the scheme, you can download our draft application documents. These include environmental reports, photo montages and other information that you may find useful.
