The station now has a new footbridge and lift to make access between the station entrance, ticket office and platforms much easier for everyone, particularly people with reduced mobility. The station has also benefited from refurbished tactile paving.
Ann Jones AM and Chris Ruane MP have visited the station to see for themselves how passengers will benefit from the improved accessibility at the station.
Chris Ruane MP said: “The improvements at Prestatyn can only encourage more tourism to the area and open up access across the whole of the north Wales route of the railway. We are delighted with the finished result.”
Mark Langman, route managing director for Wales, said: “Britain relies on rail so it’s vital that we provide facilities which make the railway easier to use, safer and more accessible for everyone. The improvements at Prestatyn station will make a real difference to passengers.”
Works to the ticket office, the second and final stage of transforming Prestatyn station will complete next year.
